 The Roxbury Highland Bank of Jamaica Plain, founded in 1889, is the only independent neighborhood bank in Jamaica Plain. All of our directors live or work in the community. Our mission is to meet the financial needs of families and businesses in Jamaica Plain, Rosindale, Roxbury, and other neighborhoods. By helping families acquire and improve homes and enabling businesses to begin and expand, we strengthen the economic foundations of community life. Since we are owned by our depositors, we are responsible to our friends and neighbors and can put their needs first. In accordance with our mission to serve the community, we have established The Roxbury Highland Charitable Foundation to distribute a portion of our profits to local organizations and programs involved in education, health care, the arts, and the needs and problems of youth. Since 1997, the Foundation has given grants every year. We also sponsor community events and activities. The Roxbury Highland Bank of Jamaica Plain offers the following services:
We strive to provide friendly, personal service to every customer. Members of our staff speak both English and Spanish. Our President, Treasurer, and Loan Officer are available in the bank to talk with our customers about their financial needs. We retain our mortgages and service them ourselves rather than sell them on the secondary market.
